We have more than 10 years’ experience specializing in reducing animal pest numbers with environmentally conscious methods, we use no poisons, fumigants or pesticides. The methods we use have been chosen to reduce the impact to the environment, protect the safety of all staff and ensure there is no by-kill of non-targeted species. The best options for the scenario will be discussed during the initial site visit.
MARKSMAN SERVICE
We have marksman setups to suit all scenarios, from shooting Birds inside buildings and under bridges, Rabbits near houses to taking down Deer at the back of the farm. We are very discreet using silencers at all times and safety is always the top priority. For all work undertaken inside or near buildings we choose to use the latest in pre-charged pneumatic air rifle technology which allows the power to be set up correctly for each scenario to lower the risk of any damage to any surrounding buildings. This technology ensures a safe, quick and clean kill with next to no impact on the environment (no brass bullet cases, powder residue and little to no lead). They are also very very quiet!
Our marksman methods ensure you will get instant results and allow us the flexibility to safely shoot inside supermarkets, car parking buildings assembly lines, pack-houses and warehouses etc. Lead free projectiles can be used on request near food prep or water catchment areas. For larger animals or farm/forestry work we often use higher powered firearms, these are all fitted with silencers to minimize disturbance to stock, workers and neighbours.
LIVE CAPTURE
This service can only be offered for a limited number of pest species, at this stage only Rats and some Birds. This option can be particularly successful for Magpies, Rooks, Mynas and Pukeko and if you would like these birds can then be released in a more suitable habitat.
COMPLIANCE
We are fully insured; have an excellent health & safety system and we can produce progress reporting to ensure we maintain compliance for our customers. RATES
Our charge out rates vary from job to job depending on the risk factor and the hours that the operation needs to be carried out at. Rates will be agreed upon as part of the initial site visit once these variables are understood.
THE SPECIES WE CAN TAKE CARE OF FOR YOU…
Rats – Rats can carry and transmit disease, eat both stored and growing foods, chew through wires which can cause fires and they are known to eat native bird chicks from nests. More info
Rabbits – Rabbits destabilize soil and leave trip hazards for livestock, strip bark (which can kill trees), eat shoots and crops, compete for feed with livestock and breed prolifically. More info
Wallaby – Cute and often mistaken for an out of place baby Kangaroo these guys are serious trouble and have earned the classification of “unwanted organism” under the bio-security act. Wallaby’s are heavy browsers and can cause serious damage to native NZ bush, the gestation period is usually less than a month and once the joey is in the pouch the mother can get pregnant again straight away so populations can explode if not kept in check. Possums – Possums can carry and transmit TB to cattle and deer herds, they feed on native fauna (in large numbers they can strip large areas in a single night) and sometimes native bird eggs and nestlings. More info
Hedgehogs – Hedgehogs are known to carry TB, they can feed on the eggs and chicks of ground nesting native birds and a large number of invertebrates. More info
Mustelids (Stoat/Ferret/Weasel) – These guys all prey on native birds (including Kiwi!), bats, lizards and other invertebrates. More info Stoats Weasels Ferrets
Birds – There are many bird species we can take care of for you, Sparrows, Magpies, Rooks, Turkeys, Canadian Geese, Pukeko (particularly damaging to new crops!), Swans, Ducks, Starlings, Thrush, Pigeons, Rosella, Spur winged Plover and Myna. There are some restrictions we legally need to adhere to around some game bird species – Permits may be required via Fish and Game NZ.
Pigs – Feral pigs can cause large amounts of damage to crops and pastures (known as rooting which can cause considerable damage to our forest ecosystem), they are also known for killing sheep and lambs. More info
